Heart Disease Grant

Introduction

The American Healthcare Foundation is initiating a grant scheme that will support for a selected number of projects submitted to Cardiologists.

Through this scheme the American Healthcare Foundation will obtain vital results from the field of Nutraceuticals.

Aim

To determine the results of the use of Nutraceuticals in Heart Disease patients.

Grants available

The value of each grant is estimated at USD $1,500. The number and value of the grants is subject to variation.

Grant Awards

The grant applications will be evaluated by the Grant Scheme Committee. The Committee will consist of four American Healthcare Foundation staff from the Medical Review Board.
The Committee will decide which Cardiologists to support and the value of each grant based upon a lottery system. The Committee's decision will be final.

Eligable Cardiologists

The applicants for the Heart Disease Grant shall be Cardiologists in an active practice and must be licenced and have medical offices in either the United States or Canada.

Specific Research Areas

  • Each successful Grant applicant shall receive a 3 month supply of a natural Glutathione (GSH) raising supplement that is to be freely given to several patients at any stage of Heart Disease.
  • The patient(s) must agree to undergo monthly examinations by the Cardiologist so that the results of the programme can be determined.
  • The ideal patient would be one that has no other outside influence or foreseen medical condition changes during the testing period.
  • Throughout the testing period the physican must make notes and have one on one visits with the patient to determine the progress and outcome.
  • Each physician must report in writing back to the American Healthcare Foundation with the results of the research no later than 30 days after the completion of the research period. Specific and measurable observations are the goal of the research.
  • The physician agress that the report may be made public. The name of the patient and/or any personally identifiable information shall be removed from any reports for this purpose.

Time Framework

  • Grant applicants must apply before 15 May 2006.
  • Selection of patients and testing is to begin on or near 15 Jun 2006.
  • The test ends 3 months after each patient begins the programme (15 Sep 2006 target date).
  • Only a final report is due from the Cardiologist and is anticipated by 15 Oct 2006. The report must state the patients starting condition, observations throughout the programme, and a final statement and summary.

No application will be accepted after the submission deadline.
